Kala Cotton — India’s rare, rain-fed indigenous cotton grown in the black-soil fields of Kutch — is handblock printed using the ancient Ajrakh technique: natural dyes like indigo and madder, intricate geometric and floral patterns, and a meticulous resist-printing process passed down through generations.
